For instance, take St. Augustine nestled in the northeastern coastal area, known to be the oldest established city in the US. The Fort is preserved as it originally existed during the original conflict between the Spaniards, who were here first, and the English, Pirates, and whoever else was interested in invading the beautiful coastline. Fort Augustine still has the original cannons and many of the original structures, including their makeshift jail. St. Augustine is a must-see area because it offers much more than just the featured Fort.
Traveling South on the eastern coastline offers beauty and is worth exploring all the historical events that have taken place through the ages. The scenery is splendid, the beaches inviting and the architecture tells its own story. Words alone do not do justice to the beauty of the region.
